Course Information and Where to Go in Downtown Stillwater!
We recently announced a change to the finish area for our September 17 race. The new finish will be at Boom Site Park approximately three miles north of Stillwater. The new courses avoid flooding issues caused by this summer's high water levels on the St. Croix River, offer a scenic route for runners and eliminates the busy stretch of Highway 95 from Boom Site Park into downtown Stillwater. Yes, these courses are sanctioned and certified. For more information, go here.
Curious about where to go in downtown Stillwater? Our headquarters is the Water Street Inn. Results will be posted here and there is plenty of room at the hotel and adjacent park to gather, meet up with family and friends, and celebrate your accomplishment. Check out this map to get your bearings about parking, shuttles and so on. Click on the map to view it larger and download.
Shuttles to/from the Finish and Downtown Stillwater for SPECTATORS and RUNNERS:
All runners will be bused to the start areas. The finish area will be serviced continuously by shuttle buses beginning at approximately 7:40 am. Spectators may find buses on Water Street between Myrtle Street and Mulberry Street. The ride from downtown Stillwater is a short 6-7 minutes to the Boom Site and will bring our runner-guests and fans back to Stillwater and the headquarters at the Water Street Inn after the race. There is positively NO parking available at Boom Site Park or along the adjacent highway.
About the Race
The classic 10 Mile/5K in the St. Croix Valley that started it all. The Stillwater Log Run will take place Sept. 17, 2016. If you're familiar with the former Lumberjack Days Road Races, this will look veeery familiar! A superb, mostly downhill race with a gentle decent ending in Boom Site Park just north of downtown Stillwater. It's been known as one of the fastest 10 mile courses around. Participants come back year-after-year for this one and it's easy to see why; it's their PR course. We hope you'll join us and be our next big fan.
Participants are ensured a great race experience, including:
Gender specific 100% cotton, long sleeved shirts (Specs: Men/Women)
Again this year, each of the three medals in the Run Stillwater series fit together, and in 2016 we're adding a magnetic feature. The only way to get the set is by running each of the races in our series, beginning with the Stillwater Half Marathon/5K in May, running the Lift Bridge Road Race in July and finishing with the Log Run in September. Thanks to the comments and support of all our participants, we know that this was very popular, so we're making it a tradition! If all this is new news to you, put our series on your calendar for next year. We love to see our friends come back year after year.
New to the 2016 Log Run 10 Mile distance, we are pleased to welcome the Minnesota Pacers pace team. Pacers will be available to help runners run their best and reach their race day goals. The Minnesota Pacers pace team will be on site at packet pickup to answer questions. Watch for more information here and on the Race Info page.
